A simpler infusion can be made by brewing 1 tablespoon of oregano in 200 ml of boiling water for 30 minutes. After straining, it is advised to drink ⅓ to ½ cup of this infusion three times a day before meals. This versatile concoction aids in:

  • Treating chronic gastritis with low acidity, esophagitis, and enhancing intestinal peristalsis;
  • Mitigating stomach ulcers and duodenal ulcers, chronic constipation, stomach and intestinal spasms, flatulence, and serving as an analgesic and cholagogue for liver diseases, gallbladder issues, and jaundice;
  • Easing bronchitis, pneumonia, common colds, and bronchial asthma – particularly when added to boiled milk and taken at night;
  • Soothing central nervous system disturbances, neuroses, hysteria, seizures, epilepsy, hypersexuality, and insomnia;
  • Acting as a diuretic for kidney ailments;
  • Relieving painful menstruation and menopausal symptoms;
  • Benefiting conditions such as hypertension (except in severe cases) and atherosclerosis.
